I have been supporting the band The Voodoo Glow Skulls for some time now. When I started Henchmen Productions they were one of the first projects I worked on. I was pretty excited since I’ve been a pretty die hard fan for awhile. Me helping them was really more like them helping me out. I really needed to build my portfolio and their projects helped out a great deal!
The front man of the band, Frank Casillas, started up his own music label late last year, California Street Music. A label embracing music that comes out of the Cali scene. We’re talking ska, reggae, punk, hip-hop, etc. The site has recently been upgraded and now has a couple new albums on MP3 to purchase for download. You can now get the Voodoo Glow Skulls’ Firme and Bailes De Los Locos. In addition they also have a 20th Anniversary t-shirt available. That’s 20 years of Voodoo Glow Skulls! Not many bands can make it past 5 years let alone 20 years. So, go check out the new layout and the store. You can click on the image below.
I’m looking forward to watching the label grow this year. The first band, Knockout, is currently hitting the road. They’re doing a European run. Then a US run. Also, the Voodoo Glow Skulls are hitting the road on the Ska Is Dead Tour. They’ll be playing with the Toasters, Mustard Plug, Buck-O-Nine, and more.
Best of luck to both bands and the label!
That usually means a restart for most people. Regather their plans and agenda. Get re-focused on goals. And go out bigger and better. It’s like starting on a clean slate. Who doesn’t like that feeling?
The plan is no different for Henchmen Productions. I had a good 2008 but hope to have a better 2009. I also hope the best for everyone I have worked with and continue to work with. The one thing I am really looking forward to is meeting and working with new people, helping other achieve their goals, going out bigger with Henchmen Productions.
With that said, I welcome 2009! Bring it on! I think it’ll be a fun ride.
Mike
The ADM Skateboards site recently went through a redesign. Please take a look. It is very much a more welcoming feel and definitely displays what ADM is all about more clearly. Many thanks to Dawn over at DM4DESIGN. She did the layout. I did the slicing and dicing into an HTML, CSS WordPress template.
Check it!
I just wanted to make sure those that are able to vote to go and vote today. This might be one of the biggest elections to witness and would be great to play a part in it.
I woke early today. I waited in line for about 1 hour and 40minutes. Not a huge wait. But I voted and by the end couldn’t wait for my first cup of coffee. Now, I’m going to wait for the results tonight. Maybe make some popcorn as well.
Regardless of who you want to win go out and vote today!
Thanks!
I grew up listening to the Voodoo Glow Skulls ever since the mid 90’s. Even when I ‘grew up’ I continued to buy their albums, blast their music, and go to their shows. They never faded away to me. Of course the Voodoo Glow Skulls don’t have the sound for everyone’s ear. But if you appreciate ska-core or ska then most likely you have already have heard their tunes at some point.
When I started off Henchmen Productions it was perfect timing when I finally launched. They were in need of a redesign for promotion of their upcoming album Southern California Street Music. I was in need of boosting my portfolio and getting the business the off the ground. I did the the redesign for VoodooGlowSkulls.com and helped when I could in promotion. I give me some big thanks for helping me out with my start.
After 20 years of making music, touring the world, and being complete bad asses the Voodoo Glow Skulls are still going at it. I find that pretty awesome considering most bands end after 8 years. Maybe even 4 years. But 20 years is a grand time to be playing as a band. You think after awhile you get sick of the same faces. But they run it like a family and as a family. So, to celebrate 20 years the Voodoo Glow Skulls have a special designed t-shirt for the occasion. It is available exclusively through the lead singer’s record label, California Street Music. Check out the design below. I think it’s a very slick design. Very slick. Click on the image to purchase a shirt.
Here’s to 20 years gang!
Finally!
After a couple of delays the California Street Music site is up and running. You can get the latest album from KNOCKOUT at the online store. Buy the CD or download some tunes. Which ever you may prefer. Some good music! So, check it out!
"From start to finish my experience with Henchmen Productions felt as if I was working with someone who really cared about my company. Far too often, the vendor/client relationship feels like a tug of war - not with Henchmen Productions. They were a true 'partner' when we designed and developed my company's website. There was a fine balance between my expectations and their 'outside of the box' thinking. For some reason, I felt they maintained a loyalty to my brand just as much as they would to their own. You don't get that from just any other web design company. When your customers take the time to compliment your website as much as they do your product - you know you've got something special... Thank You Henchmen Productions. "

"As our business grew, we wanted to establish a useful medium in which our existing and potential clientele could learn more about us and what we are able to provide for them. We decided to advertise more and update our existing company website. We went with a site redesign. Throughout the process, Henchmen Productions had and continues to be very responsive to our needs and peculiarities. They have treated us with the utmost professional courtesy and I, because of our delightful experience, recommend them every chance I get."

"Henchmen productions did everything we asked for, and more, without breaking the bank. Mike was very professional, accommodating to our needs, and exceeded our expectations. We are still working with him today, and will continue to do so in the future. "
